A copper HDMI cable carries an electrical signal, and at 48 Gbps that signal degrades quickly with distance. Past roughly 15 feet you start losing the top specifications, and past 25 feet a passive copper cable will not carry 4K at 120 Hz reliably at all.
Fiber HDMI converts the signal to light at the source end and back to electricity at the display end. Light does not attenuate the way an electrical signal does, so 50, 100 or 150 feet works exactly as well as ten.
