192.168.0.1 is one of the most common default gateway IP addresses used by home and small office routers. It is a private IPv4 address in the Class C range (192.168.0.0/24) that manufacturers assign as the router’s admin panel address. Brands that commonly use 192.168.0.1 include TP-Link, D-Link, Belkin, Tenda, Huawei, and many ISP-supplied routers.
How to Login to 192.168.0.1
Connect your device to the router via WiFi or ethernet cable — you must be connected to the same network.
Open any web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari).
Type http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar and press Enter. Do not type it in the search bar.
You will see your router’s login page. Enter the default username and password from the table below.

Note: If the default credentials don’t work, check the label on the bottom or back of your router — manufacturers often print the specific username, password, and WiFi network name (SSID) on a sticker.
192.168.0.1 vs 192.168.1.1 — What’s the Difference?
Both 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.1 are common default router IP addresses, but they belong to different subnets:
192.168.0.1 — Default gateway for the 192.168.0.0/24 network. Used by TP-Link, D-Link, Belkin, and many ISP routers.
192.168.1.1 — Default gateway for the 192.168.1.0/24 network. Used by Netgear, ASUS, Linksys, and Cisco home routers.
If 192.168.0.1 doesn’t work, try 192.168.1.1. You can find your router’s actual IP by checking the Default Gateway in your network settings.
How to Find Your Router’s IP Address
On Windows
Press Win + R, type cmd, press Enter.
Type ipconfig and press Enter.
Look for “Default Gateway” — that is your router’s IP address.
Settings → WiFi → Tap your connected network → Look for “Router” or “Gateway” IP address.
What Can You Do in the Router Admin Panel?
Change WiFi name (SSID) and password: Keep your network secure with a strong, unique password.
Change admin password: The most important security step — default “admin/admin” is easily guessed.
Set up port forwarding: Required for hosting game servers, security cameras, or remote access.
Configure DNS: Switch from your ISP’s DNS to faster options like 1.1.1.1 (Cloudflare) or 8.8.8.8 (Google).
Enable/disable WPS: WiFi Protected Setup — often enabled by default. Disable it for better security.
Firmware updates: Check for and install firmware updates to fix security vulnerabilities.
View connected devices: See all devices currently connected to your network.
Set up parental controls: Block specific websites or schedule internet access for devices.
Troubleshooting — 192.168.0.1 Not Working
Problem: Page won’t load
Make sure you typed http://192.168.0.1 in the address bar, not the search bar.
Try a different browser or incognito/private window.
Ensure you are connected to the router’s network (WiFi or ethernet cable).
Try 192.168.1.1 — your router may use a different default IP.
Problem: Wrong username/password
Check the sticker on the bottom of your router for the actual default credentials.
If you changed the password and forgot it, perform a factory reset (see below).
Problem: Need to factory reset
Locate the Reset button on the back of your router (usually recessed). Use a pin or paperclip to hold it for 10–30 seconds until all lights flash. Security Tips After Logging In
Change the admin password immediately — use a strong, unique password (not “admin” or “password”).
Change your WiFi password — use WPA3 or WPA2 encryption.
Disable remote management — unless you specifically need to access your router from outside your network.
Disable WPS — it has known security vulnerabilities.
Update firmware — check for updates in the router’s admin panel.
Use a guest network — for visitors and IoT devices to isolate them from your main network.
